The R.P. Lumber Center is adjacent to two of the area's high schools (Edwardsville High School as well as Metro-East Lutheran High School) and centrally located in Edwardsville. The Teen Center within the facility is known as "The Garage," in a nod to the three garage-style doors that offer plenty of lighting and access to the adjacent outdoor patio. It provides a place to gather and meet, offering a safe option for teenagers to congregate in the community. After-school activities at the R.P. Lumber Center include tutoring, skating, studying, exercise and more.
The Teen Center was made possible through the fundraising efforts of the Junior Service Club of Edwardsville/Glen Carbon, whose goal was to support our local youth by providing them a safe, supervised, social environment.
An R.P. Lumber Center membership is not required for the Teen Center. However, a facility use agreement (including emergency contacts and other information) is required of students who wish to use the Teen Center. The form is available online or can be picked up from R.P. Lumber Center staff.
