This event is presented by Friends of Leclaire.
The 27th Annual Leclaire Parkfest will feature three bands: Dixieland Jazz by the Riverbend Jam Trio (Noon – 2:30 pm), followed by Bluegrass and other old time folk music from the Lodge Brothers (2:30 pm-5 pm) at the bandstand. Greg Silsby and Friends will play traditional American music on the Madison Avenue side of the park from 1 pm-3:30 pm. A Wine and Beer Garden is complimented by a wide variety of delicious festival food provided by local non-profit organizations. Local artisans and crafters will have their work on display and available for purchase. Games, pet adoptions, vintage cars and tractors and other family activities provide something for every age. The St. Andrew’s Relay for Life Team will host the annual Leclaire Parkfest book sale with thousands of books available at bargain prices. Exhibits of historic photos and narrated trolley tours tell the unique story of the Leclaire National Historic District.

We will be showing “The Lady Vanishes” (1938) directed by Alfred Hitchcock starring Margaret Lockwood and Michael Redgrave (Mystery/Suspense). Mini pastries & coffee will be catered by a local bakery starting at 9:30AM.

October 27, 2018, 11:30 AM - 2:00 PM @ City Park Bandstand
On Saturday, October 27th Edwardsville Parks Department and the Edwardsville Lion’s Club will host a children’s costume contest at the City Park Bandstand immediately followed by trick-or-treating in downtown Edwardsville.
Costumed children should arrive at the park with their parents by 11:30 a.m. to register or check in for the event. Participants will be grouped in separate age categories: baby to 3 years old, 4-6 years old, 7-9 years old, 10-12 years old and a special category for group costumes. The Edwardsville Lion’s Club will begin judging at noon. Prizes donated by GCS Credit Union will be awarded after each age category has been presented.
Entertainment at City Park, prior to the contest’s start time, includes the SIUE Suzuki Strings playing Halloween-ish music starting at 11:00 a.m. and the Edwardsville Walgreens Store will be taking pictures of each participant with a fall background. Parents can pick up one free copy of the picture at Walgreens after the event.

The Edwardsville/Glen Carbon Chamber of Commerce has brought the Halloween parade to the community for nearly 100 years. Marching bands, school groups, organizations, entertainers, and more than 100 floats take to the streets. In honor of the Illinois Bicentennial celebration, the 2018 Halloween parade is 'Celebrating Illinois History.' CLICK HERE for parade theme inspiration ideas.
Promptly at 6:30pm Wednesday, October 31, 2018, the parade will leave Lincoln Middle School parking lot at Schwarz & West Streets, then travel east on St. Louis Street to Vandalia Street, then north on North Main Street and will disband at High Street.
Spectator parking is available in the 'super lot' east of Main Street, and on side streets along the parade route. The Jerry's Tire Sales lot is reserved for handicap parking. Portapots will be available at Walgreen's, First Mid Bank & Trust, and Big Daddy's.
