  1. Kite Fly

    Keep your eyes to the skies on Saturday, April 27th. The City of Edwardsville Parks & Recreation Department is hosting a kite fly at Joe Glik Park on 710 East Lake Drive in Edwardsville, as part of the Illinois Association of Park Districts’ (IAPD) statewide kite fly, “Flying 4 Kids”. The City of Edwardsville Parks & Recreation Department’s kite fly will take place from 9am-12 noon. The first 50 participants receive a goodie bag but everyone gets to decorate their own kite! These goodies are made possible by our generous sponsor: Cassens Transport Company. All participants are encouraged to bring their own kites to participate in the fun fly which will take place during the entire event.

  2. Senior Trip (ESCAPE) - Historic Train Ride in Jackson, MO

    Historic Train Ride in Jackson, MO Tuesday, April 23 or Tuesday, April 30 8:30 AM-5:30 PM Jump back in history has we head to the historic town of Jackson, MO established in 1814 and on the list of National Register of Historic Districts. We will first stop at the Whistle Stop to board the Iron Mountain Railroad. We will enjoy wine-tasting as we get settled into the train with 93 year old train cars. Once on your board, we will be delighted with a Murder Mystery lunch. When we return to the station, we will hop on the bus for a guide tour of historic Jackson. We will make several stops to visit popular land marks and there will be a little time to visit some of Jackson’s unique shops. We will make a restroom stop both on our way to and from Jackson. $75 per person. Fee includes motorcoach, and all items listed Registration Deadline: Friday, April 5th, 2019 (Waitlist Both Dates)
