PLEASE NOTE – POWER TESTING

If you are selected to continue in the process for further consideration for placement on the hiring list, a Power Test will be required as part of the patrol officer hiring process. Your eligibility is determined by the number of candidates the Board of Fire & Police Commissioners has chosen to progress through the hiring list process, a candidate’s initial written examination score, and successful completion of a preliminary background check and oral interview.

Before interviews are conducted by the Board of Fire and Police (sometime in November/December), all candidates for the Edwardsville Police Department must present to the City of Edwardsville’s Human Resources Department a valid Power Test card.  Any candidate failing to do so will be stricken from further employment consideration.

It is your responsibility to schedule and complete the Power Testing examination and to timely provide evidence of your completion to Amanda Tucker, Director of Human Resources, City of Edwardsville, 118 Hillsboro Ave., P.O. Box 407, Edwardsville, IL 62025.

Candidates who have not obtained a Power Test card or whose card is more than 6 months old at time of interviews (sometime in November/December), may take the Power Test at their own expense at the following location:

Thank you for your interest in employment opportunities with the Edwardsville Police Department.
